Recreation Revitalized Project Pages - Redesign

The Recreation Revitalized initiative needed a consistent, user-friendly web presence to communicate ongoing facility renovation projects to Brampton residents. The existing pages lacked visual hierarchy, accessibility features, and a cohesive design system.

The Century Gardens Youth Hub project page was used for the mock-up. This required a comprehensive redesign that would:

  • Provide clear project timelines and milestones

  • Engage community members with updates and opportunities for feedback

  • Meet WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards

  • Maintain consistency with other City of Brampton.ca web project pages

Timeline

  • November, 2025 - Ongoing

My Role - Lead Designer

Worked closely with IT to identify existing SharePoint design patterns used across brampton.ca.

  • Researched and documented reference pages for design consistency

  • Collaborated with stakeholders to understand content priorities and user needs

Analyzed user flow and determined optimal content hierarchy.

  • Created initial wireframes incorporating stakeholder feedback

  • Iteratively refined layout based on technical constraints and accessibility requirements

Implementing the new finalized template on all Recreation Revitalized webpages, once complete.
